On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the “Charlotte Borderless City and Nativity Scenes” exhibition opened with great excitement, celebrating artistic expression that bridges cultures, generations, and worldviews through art and the holiday tradition.

The exhibition features the work of 33 artists, including CMS students and their teachers, showcasing pieces that explore identity, belonging, migration, community, and hope. At the heart of the exhibition are 50 nativity scenes, created by high school students, city organizations, community groups, and various artists, each offering a unique interpretation of the traditional holiday scene from diverse cultural and creative perspectives. Participating groups included Ikiagi Bold, Lear Voices, Latinos Aventureros, MujerArtes, Compare Foods, and Carolinas Journalists, all contributing their own creative visions to the nativity displays.

The opening was a truly special evening, full of emotion, family togetherness, and community connection, where art became a bridge linking traditions, memories, and shared futures. The diversity of expressions highlighted the spirit of a city without borders, united by creativity and respect.

La Casa de la Cultura proudly hosted the exhibition at Obra Collective.

The exhibition will remain open until January 3, 2026, with upcoming special events and activities related to “Charlotte Borderless City and Nativity Scenes.” We invite everyone to experience this unique celebration of art, community, and the holiday spirit—and to get ready to welcome 2026 together, filled with creativity and new stories.
