Cultural Connections is a year-round cultural and educational ecosystem that brings Afro-descendant and allied communities together through music, dance, workshops, panels, and community dialogue. Rooted in Puerto Rican Bomba, Peruvian Festejo, Haitian Kompa, and Afro-Venezuelan traditions, it makes culture participatory, accessible, and present beyond a single event.
With three consecutive years of growth—from 946 to 1,527 participants—Cultural Connections is building community, developing leadership, centering women’s voices, and creating a lasting cultural legacy in Charlotte.
